What are your goals for the 2008-2009 school year?

Hello folks,

It's time for a new school year and there's a lot of exciting things going on in the building. This week is typically overwhelming, especially for new staff. In light of this, we often forget to think about what we want for ourselves. What I'd like you to come up with today is a list of three goals for this coming school year. Your goals can either be educational or personal. Since this is a blog, people will be able to see your goals and respond to what they see (so make 'em good). Here's to a great school year!

Hi Dave,
I'm looking to learn something new everyday this year!

My goal is to get all my units mapped out and to create a flow throughout the year between all the material we cover in the classroom.

I also want to make some type of meaningful impact in the students' lives. What's the point of being a teacher unless you can reach children?

My goals for the school year include: *Being more organized with the materials in the class so that the environment is not messy and distracting to students with piles of papers everywhere.
*Using my time in a more proactive manner. I want my weekends for me more often!
*Make sure that things are connected cross curricular more this year.

1. Get all my units, lessons, and activities on-line.

2. Help my students to be prepared to succeed on the MCAS.

3. Survive another year of teaching in an under performing school.
